Work-At-Height Course for Workers (available in English and Mandarin)

Target Audience

Under Workplace Safety and Health (Work-At-Heights) Regulation 2013, any person who carries out or is to carry out any work at height to ensure that the person shall work at height in a workplace only after he has first received adequate safety and health training to familiarise himself with the hazards associated with work at height and the precautions to be observed.

 

All line staff, operators and workers who are required to perform work-at-height activities in their workplaces

 

The aim of the course is to provide the participants with the requisite Work-At-Height knowledge in order for them to perform their Work-At-Height activities properly and safely, thus, achieving zero Fall From Height (FFH) in their workplaces.

 

Course Overview

At the end of the course, the participants will be able to identify the following:

  1. Identify relevant workplace safety & health (WSH) regulations / Approved Code of Practice / Singapore standards applicable to WAH.  Know the Roles and Responsibilities.
  2. Identify Work-At-Height hazards and preventive measures related to Work-At-Height.
  3. Demonstrate the understanding of se and care for the various fall arrest systems and equipments

 

Course Objective

  1. WSH Act, WAH & RM Regulations / Code of Practices, ACOP and Singapore Standards
  2. Roles and Responsibilities of WAH Worker
  3. Hazard Identification for WAH, Fall Control Measures
  4. Permit to Work (PTW) for WAH
  5. Donning of Individual Fall Protection Equipment and Application of Self-rescue in Emergency
  6. Fundamental of working at height and Fall Prevention
  7. Importance of Inspection & Record Keeping of WAH Equipment

 

Course Requirements

Participants to provide a Work Permit / NRIC copy

Participants must be physically and mentally fit to participate in work at height practical activities

Participants have a basic knowledge of workplace processes, procedures, activities and practices

Teacher: Student ration is 1:20

7.5 hours (including assessment)

100% course attendance

 

Assessment

There will be a MCQ and Practical assessment

** Please note that it is COMPULSORY for all participants to wear safety shoes when attending the course

 

Certification

The certificate will be awarded to the participant on successful completion of the written/practical assessment. The certificate is valid for lifetime.
